Kaitlyn Hoober is a contemporary oil and pastel artist based in Fishers, Indiana. Though largely self-taught, her relationship with art began long before she found herself painting on canvas. Raised in her mother's ceramics studio, she grew up surrounded by art and an appreciation for making things by hand. After taking art courses in college, she eventually found her way back to painting and began developing her own practice.

Her approach varies between mediums: her oil paintings are deliberate and layered, often beginning with an idea and developing through a more structured process. Her pastel work, by contrast, is intuitive and organic, allowing the materials to lead.

Her work explores moments that feel both private and universal. Often soft and nostalgic, her paintings move between abstraction and representation. Where words and reason fall short, color and texture provide a space to feel.
